Xstrata looks to The A-Team for inspiration

Mick Davis, CEO of Xstrata, brought a dose of 80s TV pizzazz to his prelims presentation this week.

The larger-than-life mining boss evoked cult show The A-Team in his closing remarks, saying: ‘In due course, Xstrata’s shareholders should be able to echo the immortal words of Colonel Hannibal Smith of The A-Team – I love it when a plan comes together.’

Investors seemed to buy into his action plan, with Xstrata’s stock jumping around 5 percent following the results.

Davis will be pleased they didn’t shoot back with another A-Team catchphrase from the twitchy BA Baracus: ‘I ain’t gettin’ on no plane Hannibal!’
